I had an incredible stay at this historic house with stunning views and a fantastic location. The interiors were beautifully decorated and I particularly loved the big windows overlooking the harbor. The staff were excellent and went out of their way to assist me in planning a family celebration. The house had all the facilities I needed, and I appreciated the disabled access lift and accessible bathroom. The tea chutes and hatches added a unique and quirky touch to the house, and the museum downstairs provided fascinating insight into its history. I also enjoyed seeing the lovely Bellany paintings throughout the house. I would definitely love to stay here again.
Nothing to mention.

Hidden tea chute, period features, free WiFi, private parking. I had so much fun playing smuggler in this historic house, and the WiFi was great for sharing my exploits. Just watch out for the nail sticking up, it's a lovely surprise for your foot.
Surprise nail sticking up in the dining room floor. Ouch, my slipper sock got ripped and another guest got an impromptu splinter piercing their foot.

The Hidden Tea Chute: As I explored the historic Merchant's House, I stumbled upon a hidden tea chute that made me feel like a secret agent hiding precious cargo. It was a whimsical touch that added to the charm of this grand family home.
Museum Accessibility: The central staircase that leads to the museum below was closed off during my stay, but it did raise some concerns about potential exposure if it were open.

The views from the house were absolutely fantastic! We had breathtaking scenery right outside our windows. the house itself had loads of space, perfect for a large family or friends gathering. the facilities were great, especially the well-stocked kitchen. We were able to cook and enjoy meals together at the massive dining table. the little secret cubby holes around the house were a lovely surprise for the kids to explore. And the history of the house was fascinating, with quirky tea chutes and hatches adding to the charm.
the wooden floor in the dining room was dangerous, with a nail sticking up and causing accidents. the TV signal was quite poor, making it difficult to watch certain shows.
